Samantha Lyra Rennie was born on July 7, 2007 at 7:07 EST. She weighed in at exactly 3 kilograms (6 lbs., 9.8 oz.). She and mommy are learning how to breastfeed together.
It was 8:07 local time (EDT). One of the nurses noted "It's 7:07 in Chicago". I looked at the clock, and, yes, exactly 8:07. I couldn't resist telling everyone that it was 7:07 eastern standard/central daylight :-)
Hi I'm a lurker, just logging on to one of my favorite food sites to see if I can find some recipes for the weekend, and instead see this wonderful news! Congratulations to you both. Having a kid is the greatest - nothing comes close. Pam in DC

Thank you so much for your good wishes!
Yes, we are huge Pullman fans. That's where the name Lyra comes from.
Tonight is her 1 week birthday. Jason and I are celebrating with medium-rare burgers (the only thing I denied myself in pregnancy ;)
Got to run.
Cheers,
-Helen
